Sex between humans and robots will be widely accepted

Dr Helen Driscoll, an expert in sexual psychology at the University of Sunderland, said sex between humans and robots could be widely accepted by 2070. At that time, humans may be more inclined to have sex with robots than with humans.

Driscoll says the prejudice against "Machine fetishism" will soon dissipate. "We may look at VR sex and robot sex in the light of current social norms," she says. “But if we look back at the social norms about sex 100 years ago, it's clear that things have changed rapidly."

In theory, robots could be programmed to perform a variety of functions, such as striking various sexual positions, to create a variety of experiences, the rebots are  real like sex dolls. As a result, sex with robots will be more popular.

"As virtual reality brings a greater sense of reality and immersion, and can even mimic or improve the sexual experience with a human partner, it is conceivable that some people will be more inclined to choose this approach over having sex with less than perfect humans," Driscoll says. People can also fall in love with a virtual reality partner."

Recently, the idea of virtual reality sex has attracted a lot of criticism. "At the moment, this may be shocking and seem unusual, but we should not automatically assume that virtual relationships are inferior to real ones," Driscoll says. In reality, people have fallen in love with fictional characters they can't actually meet or interact with."

It seems psychologically problematic that people spend time in virtual worlds interacting with virtual characters. But Driscoll believes that if such technology matures, there will be no difference between having a romantic relationship with a robot and a normal one.

"Lack of human interaction is harmful," she says, “Humans are social animals, and lack of human interaction can lead to loneliness and a variety of mental and mental health problems. In the long run, technology can solve these problems."

She also pointed out that when there are truly and perfectly intelligent robots which are sexy real sex dolls, people will not only choose such robot partners, but there will be no psychological problems because these robots are not different from humans.

A few weeks ago, one robot passed a self-consciousness test. Last year, a supercomputer, believed to be human, passed the Turing test for the first time.
